'Thor' And 'Amaterasu' Tapped For 'Marvel Vs. Capcom 3'?

Capcom seems to have neglected to mention a couple of gods when it announced Doctor Doom, Super-Skrull, Trish from "Devil May Cry" and Chun-Li as fighters in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" Tuesday. New purported shots from the game bearing the Marvel.com watermark do not currently appear on the site's "Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds" images page, but a message board poster claims to have acquired them via a leak.
Screenshots clearly showing Marvel's God of Thunder and Amaterasu, the Shinto sun goddess incarnation from Capcom's "Ōkami," did appear on a NeoGAF thread, and if they're fakes, they are darn good ones.
With Marvel's "Thor" movie and Capcom's "Ōkamiden" for the Nintendo DS both getting released in the coming year, it would actually be quite a shocker if neither of these characters appeared in "MvC3." Furthermore, Thor's hammer those Three Wolf God Sun shirts are already hanging around the San Diego Convention Center this week, so getting the news out now makes perfect sense.
Given Amaterasu's height (or lack thereof) it's going to be fun to see how the wolf shape fits in with the gameplay. I don't know if squat-kicks and leg sweeps are going to be necessary for getting a blow to connect, but surely a trailer will reveal all soon. (Credit: MTV)

CryptoLogic sees weak Q2, shares plunge - 15th July 2010
Internet gaming company CryptoLogic Ltd said it expects second-quarter operating loss to be sequentially wider and outlook for the year to be "much less encouraging" than when it reported its first-quarter results, sending its shares down 25 percent to a 14-year low.
The company, which makes Internet casino and branded gaming software, also said the full suite of casino games due for launch in the quarter at one of its e-gaming operators was delayed until July.
Second-quarter revenue is likely to show a slight sequential decline, the company said in a statement. In the first quarter, the company reported revenue of $7.6 million, but had said it expected sales to improve gradually.
CryptoLogic, which reported a first-quarter operating loss of $2.4 million, forecast total costs to be higher-than-expected in the second quarter.
"Despite the World Cup, casino revenue showed a modest gain quarter on quarter but was lower than anticipated due to a substantial swing in player preferences for blackjack and roulette," the company said in a statement.
CryptoLogic licenses its games to e-gaming operators such as PartyGaming, Gala Coral and Betfair.
Shares of the Dublin, Ireland-based company were down 47 Canadian cents at C$1.80 Thursday morning on the Toronto Stock Exchange. They touched a low of C$1.70 earlier in the session.

AffClub Affiliate Program passes tough affiliate administration tests
London, 7 July 2010 - Following the approval of PartyPartners.com in January this year, a second affiliate marketing administration program in the PartyGaming group of online gambling companies has successfully passed the on-site inspection and monitoring requirements of player protection and standards body eCOGRA.
AffClub handles affiliate marketer relationships and administration for PartyGaming Plc subsidiary iGlobalMedia Entertainment Limited, which operates the websites acquired from IOG Casinos and the Tradal Group in 2007.
Nine well-established, tier one internet casino brands and one successful online poker room comprise the AffClub business portfolio.
"In keeping with the various other PartyGaming operations that eCOGRA reviews, AffClub operates in a highly professional manner and its focus on meeting the needs of affiliates within given control frameworks provides for a reliable and effective platform for affiliates and regulators alike," reports eCOGRA Compliance Manager Sean Roberts who conducted an extensive inspection and assessment of AffClub’s operations before the eCOGRA Affiliate Trust Seal was approved by the standards body.
Having successfully met the eCOGRA affiliate program standards, AffClub is now entitled to display the eCOGRA Affiliate Trust Seal, which certifies that the company observes best practice operational standards of fairness and efficiency in dealing with affiliate marketers, and is independently reviewed on a regular basis.
eCOGRA chief executive Andrew Beveridge said that among the criteria for accreditation, applicant programs for the seal must show that affiliate revenue is calculated fairly and accurately, that payments are prompt, and that there are appropriate controls in place to accurately link players to affiliates.
"Achieving accreditation such as AffClub has done requires high levels of commitment and sound administrative and business systems," he said.
Notes for editors:
About eCOGRA’s Affiliate Trust Seal:

Affiliate revenue is calculated accurately and deductions are correctly allocated
Payments are completely and accurately processed
Preventative and detective controls are in place to ensure accurate and correct linking of players to affiliates
Program software applications are developed, implemented, maintained and secured in a manner representative of best practice international standards
Affiliate programs must be able to demonstrate that they can recover from a system disaster

PartyGaming Shares Up As 2Q Revenue Rises On Year

Shares in PartyGaming PLC rose Tuesday after the U.K.-listed gambling group said it expects a 28% rise in second quarter revenue year on year, boosted by acquisitions and strong growth in its casino business.
The group said it is trading in line with its own expectations. "We are pleased with the relatively robust performance of our business compared to many other consumer facing businesses in what remains a challenging economic environment," Chief Executive Jim Ryan said in a statement.
The group said its board "remains committed to playing an active role in consolidation and is confident about future prospects", while retaining its previous guidance for a margin on earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of 28% for the full year.
It has previously declined to comment on speculation that the company is in consolidation talks with Vienna-listed online gaming group Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG, one of Europe's largest sports book operators.
Casino revenue is expected to grow 6% quarter-on-quarter, boosted by higher yields and favorable currency effects, but with daily average player numbers down 5% due to seasonal factors.
However, the company said that while revenue in the second quarter, now reported in euros, is expected to be up 28% year on year, it will be approximately 2% down from the previous quarter and that the soccer World Cup has had a worse than expected impact on poker.
Poker revenue is expected to fall between 11% and 13%, with the daily average number of players falling between 8% and 9%. Compared with the prior quarter, casino revenue rose and bingo and sports betting revenue was "steady," the company said.
The company also said it is "encouraged" by the performance to date of its recently-launched poker operations in France.
At 0715 GMT, PartyGaming shares were up 9 pence, or 4.2%, at 230 pence, valuing the company at GBP939 million. Numis Securities analyst Wyn Ellis, with a buy rating, said the trading update was better than expected and the company's commitment to sector consolidation will go down well with investors.
PartyGaming, which derives most of its revenue from online poker and casino games and has a smaller sports book and bingo business, didn't provide revenue figures in its trading statement Tuesday.
In May, PartyGaming posted a 27% rise in first-quarter revenue to $127.1 million from $100.1 million a year earlier, but lower casino revenue and adverse foreign currency movements meant yield per active player fell 8% to $15.1 compared with last year.
In July last year it announced the takeover of Cashcade, the owner of Foxy Bingo, for up to GBP96 million, and in November it acquired WPT Enterprises, owner of the World Poker Tour, for $15.3 million.
Shares in PartyGaming, the world's biggest listed online gaming group by market capitalization, closed at 221 pence Monday, valuing the company at GBP901 million.
