Multi-year licensing deal provides at least 10 online casino games to top consumer brand
DUBLIN, IRELAND, Sep 28, 2009 -- CryptoLogic Limited today consolidated its position as a leading global developer of branded online betting games and Internet casino software by signing a multi-year licensing deal with Virgin Games, part of the Virgin Group.
The agreement enables Virgin Games to provide at least 10 of CryptoLogic's top branded and non-branded online slot games to its customers. The games include comic book classics and innovative casual slots, with some games linked into the CryptoLogic jackpot network. These games will bring a new level of enjoyment and rich content to players, while giving them a chance to win a jackpot that has reached over GBP 4 million, one of the online industry's largest prizes.
One game is already live on www.virgingames.com, with more scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2009 and further roll-outs planned in the first half of next year. The games will be deployed through Gaming Technology Solutions PLC, a CryptoLogic technology partner, on its GTS Edge platform.
The agreement is in line with CryptoLogic's build-once-license-often growth strategy and will generate recurring revenue based on a share of wagers placed by players.

Playtech (AIM: PTEC), the international designer, developer and licenser of software to the online and land-based gaming industry, is pleased to announce that it has signed a landmark, exclusive multi-year licensing agreement with Marvel Characters B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, Inc., to use Marvel's motion picture brands.
Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Playtech will have the right to use iconic Marvel film brands such as "The Incredible Hulk", "Fantastic Four", "X-Men", "Iron Man" and "Blade", amongst others. The Company will be able to use these brands across all of its gaming products including casino, poker, bingo and on all of its platforms, online, mobile and T.V. platforms, as well as on server-based gaming terminals, via the Playtech subsidiary, Videobet.

Playtech products involving poker, bingo, and casino gambling on mobile and online systems will be able to incorporate the comic book figures.
CryptoLogic has had a deal in place with Marvel, leading to a number of highly popular video slot machines. CryptoLogic recently expanded its range to ink a new contract with DC Comics that brings such strong brands as Batman and Superman to the software provider's games.
But Playtech's new arrangement reveals cracks in the CryptoLogic control of the superhero universe. Worse for CryptoLogic, the company's current licensing with Marvel expires next year. Potentially, Playtech and CryptoLogic may align with the two competing comic book realities, a major disappointment for CryptoLogic should it occur.

Aziz had asserted that the Board of Management had effectively squandered $4.2M of shareholder funds in an abortive foreign exchange transaction.

March 3, 2009 (InfoPowa News) -- In a surprise move, online gambling software and games developer Playtech plc has signed a licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment Inc. allowing it to include Marvel film properties such as The Incredible Hulk and the Fantastic Four in its branded games inventory.
The achievement means significant competition for fellow software developer CryptoLogic, which signed an agreement to use the same Marvel characters in its games last year.
The exclusive multi-year licensing agreement with Marvel Characters B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, Inc., allows Playtech to use Marvel's motion picture brands, giving it the right to use iconic Marvel film brand legends such as "The Incredible Hulk", "Fantastic Four", "X-Men", "Iron Man" and "Blade", amongst others.
Playtech will be able to use these brands across all of its gaming products including casino, poker, bingo and on all of its platforms, online, mobile and T.V. platforms, as well as on server-based gaming terminals, via the Playtech subsidiary, Videobet.

Playtech Expands Branded Games with Marvel Deal - 3rd March 2009
In an effort to benefit from the current popularity of the comic book superhero genre and the recent success of Marvel motion picture brands including X-Men and Iron Man, Playtech has announced the signing of a multi-year licensing agreement with Marvel Characters B.V, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment Inc.
Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Playtech will have the right to use iconic Marvel film brands such as The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Iron Man and Blade, amongst others.
The company will be able to utilise these brands across all of its gaming products including casino, poker, and bingo, and across all of its platforms including online, mobile and TV platforms, as well as on server-based gaming terminals, via Playtech's subsidiary Videobet.

Marvel Entertainment also has a similar licensing agreement with CryptoLogic to develop Marvel-branded internet casino games through 2010. Since 2005, CryptoLogic has launched more than ten slot games including characters such as the Hulk, Daredevil, X-Men, Blade and the Punisher.
Shares in Playtech Limited have gained 2.61% to 343.75 pence as at 09:00 GMT in London this morning following the announcement.
